I'm replaced a 70" Sony XBR (paid 5k) that I purchased about 5 years ago. We started having a optical block failure which apparently was common in this LCD TV (including class action lawsuit). Sony basically screwed their customers and they don't offer any replacement optical block. So, this time I figured that I would purchase the 5 year warranty for the peace of mind that everything will be covered. Needless to say, Sony lost a longtime customer.
